Botanical Benefits - Gall Bladder Support Blend - is a botanical alternative medicine formulation, which contains a blend of fifteen all-natural herbal extracts that effectively support and maintaining a healthy gall bladder. The gall bladder is a small, pear-shaped sac next to the liver. The liver is a gland that manufactures bile, or gall, and the gall bladder is used to store some of this until it is needed. Bile is very important because it helps to digest fatty foods. The liver makes much more bile than is needed. Most of it is excreted, but since it is used for digestion, there must be some bile in the body, and the gall bladder is its storehouse. Bile passes from the liver through the hepatic duct, which is a small tube from the liver to the gall bladder. When you have eaten foods containing fats, a muscle in the gall bladder contracts, and forces the bile from the gall bladder through the duct into the intestines, where it can work on the foods you have eaten. Sometimes, the bile becomes more concentrated than it should, and the chemicals in it become solidified, and this is how gallstones are formed. Gallstones can block the tubes leading in and out of the gall bladder, and they often require surgery to correct.
